Description of the Tour
You will fell in love with this place, at once!
You must have heard about it! This place is fantastic. And if you equally enjoy parks and palaces, flowers and fountains, art and history you can't miss it!
Peterhof is fascinating every time of year, but from May to October it will charm you with the elegance of its shady alleys and the dazzling beauty of its numerous fountains. Two Peterhof's Gardens count 150 of them. And five astonishing cascades.
The word «Peterhof» can be translated as «Peter's yard». And it was truly Peter the Great's favourite place. Everything here as if speaks about the first master of the place. Peterhof was also a Summer residence for all Russian Tsars and Tsarinas, for Elizabeth Petrovna and Catherine the Great in particular.
We will visit the Grand Palace of Peterhof, where you'll examine its sumptuous interiors and will find out a lot about the two great Russian Empresses, their private and court life.
We will also pay a visit to one of the Small Palaces - Monplaisir or Marly - which carefully preserve all the artefacts concerning the controversial figure of Peter the Great. Or we'll drop into the Bath House, which will give us a glimpse of the hidden life of the Russian Royalty.
And, of course, we'll have a stroll along wide and cool alleys of the Lower Gardens. We'll admire the glittering jets of the renowned fountains of Peterhof, well known as the «Russian Versailles».
